HBK Human Biomed Kidney
Kidney failure is now regarded as a global epidemic, and maintenance hemodialysis has become an established protocol for treating the kidney failure patients. HBK is a miniaturized, high-efficiency hemodialysis device. It provides renal failure patients with convective hemodialysis, CRRT, hemodiafiltration and/or high-volume hemofiltration.
Attention has been paid to a portable hemodialysis in an effort to solve problems, such as patients' travel, frequency of hemodialysis, and hemodialysis dose. With portable hemodialysis system, patients can conduct hemodialysis while traveling or at home. TBDR is a dialysate regeneration unit, a crucial component for the portable hemodialysis device, in which a mixed-refrigerant Joule-Thomson cycle is adopted to recycle used dialysate by cold dialysate adsorption, while maintaining the dialysate regeneration unit to be as small as a small lap-top.
HBL Human Biomed Liver
HBL is the liver dialysis device of Human Biomed. It is characterized by using a multi-functional detoxifying filter which we refer to as MLAD, in which plasma is separated from blood and the separated plasma undergoes adsorption so as to remove protein-bound hepatic toxins. In addition, hemodialysis is also conducted in the MLAD unit and uremic toxins are removed. HBL can provide intensive blood purification therapy for patients with liver failure, systemic inflammation or septic shock.
